About Us



Jay Menchaca works with individuals and businesses and has been a civil litigator for over 10 years. He has successfully represented clients in state and federal court as well as in many mediation sessions and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) forums including negotiation of complex settlements between multiple parties.  Jay brings a depth of experience to his law practice. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Menchaca worked as a State Narcotics Agent, Probation Officer, and Political Consultant. These adventures coupled with his desire to learn about the law, drew Jay to our nation’s capitol where he attended and graduated from George Washington University Law School in 1998.

Principal Areas of Practice: 

Mr. Menchaca has handled a wide variety of civil matters and currently practices in the areas of general civil litigation, business litigation and counsel, construction litigation and counsel, employment litigation and counsel, trusts wills and estates litigation, real estate/landlord/tenant litigation, personal injury and insurance matters.  Jay also has experience in the areas of casualty, environmental litigation, contract law, land use, and insurance defense.

After moving into the legal profession from the public sector, Jay brought with him a commitment to public service especially to those organizations committed to enhancing the communities where we live and work. Among Mr. Menchaca’s past and present memberships and associations are: California Bar Association; Napa County Bar Association; Monterey County Bar Association; Solano County Bar Association; Monterey County La Raza Lawyers Association: Solano County La Raza Lawyers Association: East Bay La Raza Lawyers Association; Litigation Section of the California Bar; Law Practice Management and Technology Section of the California Bar; Monterey County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Napa Solano County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Gilroy Chamber of Commerce and Santa Clara County Bar Association.


University of Texas, B.A., Political Science with minors in Biology and English; The George Washington University Law School, Juris Doctor, 1998. While at GW Law School, Jay was a member of the Environmental Lawyer Law Journal, Christian Legal Society and the Hispanic Law Students Association. 

Professional Qualifications and Activities: 

Mr. Menchaca was admitted to the California Bar in 2000 and was admitted to practice in both regional federal district courts, the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, in 2002. He has a history of successful advocacy in litigation and alternative dispute resolution forums handling cases ranging from single-party claims to the management and coordination of multi-party matters in all manner of forums.

Jay is also fluent in Spanish.
